About us
Honeytree Meadery is Nashville’s premier craft meadery.
Economy + Ecology + Education
Here at Honeytree we produce quality meads through environmentally sustainable processes.
We also work to build community around this special drink by enlightening and educating our patrons. It is our mission to update the ancient beverage for the modern consumer while retaining the age-old spirits of kinship and reverence for nature.

MEET THE HIVE

Ross Welbon
Ross leaves a trail of smiles wherever he goes. He’s a long-time beekeeper and brewer of both beer and mead, previously brewing for Little Harpeth Brewing. His time working with LHB produced countless contacts within the Nashville brewing and restaurant community, as well as their popular Mosiac IPK. His passion for beekeeping and sharing his knowledge with others knows no bounds, and he intends on pursuing a Master Beekeeper certificate in the next few years.

Dru Sousan
Dru is the co-owner of Honeytree Meadery, East Nashville’s first craft meadery. With deep roots in the service industry, Dru has spent years honing a passion for hospitality, fermentation, and community-driven craft beverages. An avid outdoor enthusiast, he finds inspiration in nature, bringing that love for the wild into every small-batch creation at Honeytree. Whether exploring new trails or new flavors, Dru is dedicated to sharing the art of mead with both seasoned enthusiasts and curious newcomers alike.

J.A. Harrison
J.A. is a gardener, forager, and beekeeper with a long career in the food and beverage industry. Having helmed the bar programmes of several of Nashville’s premiere destinations over the past dozen years, they have since landed and made a home as the Bar Director of Honeytree where their passions for beekeeping and beverage crafting have found in each other a harmonious match. J.A. is committed to the Earth and giving back to her by living in communion and reciprocity with the land. When you don’t see them behind the bar at Honeytree, you can probably find them somewhere outside, tending to their farm, beehives, and flocks of chickens and ducks, or else out camping, hiking, or paddleboarding with their dog at one of Tennessee’s State Parks.

Cameron Carothers
Cameron welcomes you into Honeytree like a close friend whether you’re a returning customer or a first time visitor. He’s a Nashville native who has worked over a decade in almost every facet of the bar and restaurant business. He became an avid patron after experiencing the upbeat energy of Honeytree’s opening day in 2019, and was brought on-board to help reopen after the events of 2020. His passion for the rich history of mead, work ethic, experience, and outgoing personality make him the perfect fit for Honeytree’s general manager.
